Women's/Diving ACC Championships: Day 2
February 21, 2020 | Swimming & Diving
Halfway through the women's and diving ACC Championships, the women are fifth with 325 points, and the men's diving team holds first place with 104 points. In Thursday's competition, Caroline Hauder placed seventh in the 200 individual medley, and the women's 200 freestyle relay placed fourth.
Â
The North Carolina teams will return to Greensboro Aquatic Center in the morning for the third day of championships. Athletes will compete in the women's 100 fly, 400 individual medley, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, 400 medley relay and men's platform diving. Brooke Perrotta, Elizabeth Vannote and Sophie Lindner have strong seeds for the 100 fly, and Bryanna Cameron is expected to finish in the top 10 for the 400 individual medley. For the 200 freestyle, Robyn Dryer and Emma Cole are seeded well, as are Lilly Higgs and Hauder in the 100 breaststroke. Grace Countie and Lindner have a prime chance to score points for the Tar Heels in the 100 backstroke.
Â
As of right now, the meet is expected to proceed as scheduled, despite winter weather. The ACC and UNC Athletics will post further updates at 6 a.m.
Â
Live scoring will be available online, and ACCNX will also live stream the meet on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The ACC will also post updates on Twitter through their account, @ACCSwimDive, or through the hashtag, #ACCSD.
