Down-Jenkins And Vazquez Selected ACC Diver Of The Week

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Senior Anton Down-Jenkins and junior Aranza Vazquez were named the ACC Men's and Women's Diver of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Last week the Tar Heels completed their second-straight dual meet sweep with both the men and women defeating UNCW in convincing fashion.
Down-Jenkins swept the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events for the 10th consecutive dual meet dating back to the 2020-21 season. He scored 390.75 points in the 1-meter competition and 374.33 points in the 3-meter event to earn his seventh career weekly award.
Like Down-Jenkins, Vazquez swept the women's diving events – 1-meter and 3-meter springboard – for the Tar Heels in the dual meet victory over the Seahawks. In the 1-meter dive, Vazquez recorded a mark of 320.33 in the win and a 3-meter dive score of 367.20 to earn the award for the fourth time in Carolina Blue and White.
The Tar Heels return to competition on Nov. 5 inside Koury Natatorium against South Carolina. The meet is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
