MSD Places 27th At NCAAs

ATLANTA – The University of North Carolina men's swimming and diving team finished 27th at the 2022 NCAA Championships at McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech.
The Tar Heels scored 24 points during the four-day event.
Senior diver Anton Down-Jenkins competed in the championship finals of the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard competition, placing eighth and sixth respectively.
Tomas Sungaila, Nick Radkov, Patrick Hussey, and Noah Rutberg teamed up to compete in the 800-yard freestyle relay, placing 20th.
Sungaila and Rutberg were joined by Jacob Rauch and Boyd Poelke in the 400-yard medley relay and the foursome established a new school record in the event, 3:06.51.
Sungaila also competed in the preliminaries of the 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle, while Poelke participated in the preliminaries of 100 and 200-yard butterfly as well.
