General - A top candidate for National Player of the Year honors in 2001... Carolina’s starter at the right back position... has started three successive years ther... currently a member of the United States National Team... has been a member of the U.S. National Team since 1997, earning two caps so far... a three-year returning starter for the Tar Heels in their inexperienced defensive unit... is also versatile enough to play striker where she averaged about 20 minutes of playing time per game last season... played in the summer of 2000 as a member of the U.S. under-21 national team at the Nordic Cup, helping lead the U.S. to the gold medal... has started all 76 games for the Tar Heels over the past three years and was a first-team freshman All-America selection and then a first-team All-America choice as both a sophomore and a junior... was one of the top recruits in the nation coming out of high school in 1998... received her first international cap playing with the full U.S. Women's National team against Sweden in October of 1997 in Chattanooga, Tenn.... has blinding speed... ranks as one of the nation's fastest players... her versatility makes her invaluable to the Tar Heels.

1999 Season -Named first-team All-America by Soccer Buzz and third-team All-America by the NSCAA/adidas and College Soccer Online... a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection as a sophomore... a first-team All-Southeast Region selection by Soccer Buzz... named first-team All-Southeast Region by the NSCAA... started all 26 games for the Tar Heels... recorded assists against Tennessee, Colorado and in the ACC finals against Wake Forest.
1998 Season -Earned a letter while starting all 28 games for the Tar Heels in 1998... had three goals and four assists on the season for 10 points... scored her goals against Colorado College, Tennessee and in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinal... recorded assists against Colorado College, Hartford, Virginia and in the ACC Tournament championship game against Clemson... named to Soccer America All-Freshman Team... named first-team Freshman All-America by Soccer Buzz... was named third-team All-Southeast Region by Soccer Buzz... also a Soccer Buzz All-Freshman Southeast Region selection.
Prep - Graduated on May 29, 1998 from McAuley High School in Cincinnati, Ohio... played three years of varsity soccer and one year of reserve soccer as a forward, midfielder and marking back... captained the McAuley High School soccer team in 1997... a 1997 Parade All-America... was selected by Parade Magazine in 1997 as the best forward in the country... was named to the 1997 NSCAA/Umbro Girls' All-America Team... was named by USA Today as one of the nation's Top Five high school recruits in the December 30, 1997 issue... was named the 1997 Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky High School Sports Woman of the Year... 1997 GGCL League All-Star Game Most Valuable Player... was an honor student at McAuley... was selected by the McAuley High school staff as student as the first recipient of the "Senior of the Month Award" in September 1997 for her leadership, athletic accomplishments and community service... was president of the Girls Athletic Association at MHS in 1998.
Club/ODP Soccer - Played club soccer for the Hammer Football Club in Cincinnati, Ohio... played for the club for three years as a forward and midfielder... captained the club team in 1996 and 1997... named to the All-Star Team at the U.S. Soccer Festival in August of 1997 in Blaine, Minn. when playing with the under-17 national team... in 1996, she was named to the under-16 National Team in her first ever year in the Olympic Development Program... in 1997, she was a member of the Under-17 National Team... in 1998 she was named to the team pools for both the under-18 national team and the under-20 national team... traveled to Holland, Germany, England, France and Belgium with her regional under-16 team.
