General: A talented swimmer who red-shirted his freshman year due to a broken collarbone…should make an impact in the backstroke and freestyle events for the Tar Heels…swam for the Long Island Aquatic Club…a former Junior National champion in the 200 backstroke.
Prep: Graduated on June 23, 2000 from South Shore Christian School…a four year letterman and also the team captain for his high school team from his sophomore through senior years…was a first team All America in the 200 free and honorable mention in the 100 back…National Honor Society member…also competed on the golf team his junior and senior years as well as the cross country team his sophomore year.
Personal: Given name is Justin William Lynch…nicknamed “Aesop”…is the son of Brian and Carol Lynch…has one brother and two sisters…his mother swam for Brockport College and one of his sisters swims for Calvin College…hobbies include surfing and lifeguarding...besides his 200 back championship, his biggest sports thrill was bungee jumping…athletes he most admires are Josh Davis and Gary Hall, Jr.….says he once ran around in traffic on the Hempstead turnpike in order to get concert tickets…business major.
