General: A three-year letter winner for the Tar Heels...had an outstanding finish to her freshman year at the ACC Championships when she went career best times in the 100 and 200-yard backstrokes at ACCs...eclipsed her own 100 back record as a junior...she is the daughter of a pair of UNC All-America swimmers, Mark List, `78, men's co-captain with UNC head coach Rich DeSelm that year, and Bonny Brown List, `80, the school's Patterson Medal winner as the outstanding senior student-athlete...a Carolina Leadership Academy CREED mentor 2009-12.
2010-11 (Junior): Named to Dean's List in spring semester 2011...also tapped for the ACC Academic Honor Roll for the second year in a row...achieved a career best time in the 100-yard backstroke versus Duke at 54.11 seconds.
2009-10 (Sophomore): Excelled at the 2010 Triangle College Cup where she won two event titles...took first place in the 100 back at 54.70 and the top spot in the 50 free with a career best 23.82...named to 2009-10 ACC Academic Honor Roll...a member of the fall 2009 semester and spring 2010 semester Dean's Lists.
2008-09 (Freshman): Went a best time in the 50-yard freestyle at the ACC Championships with a clocking of 23.87...swam the 100-yard backstroke at ACCs on the non-scoring team, but went a career best time of 54.13...that was the seventh best time in the prelims of the event...that time moved her into fourth place in school history in the event...went a career best time of 1:58.41, which was the 12th best prelim time, in the 200-yard backstroke at ACCs, moving her into the fifth spot all-time on the school's depth chart.
Prep: Graduated from the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn. on May 31, 2008...lettered there for four years as a backstroker and freestyle sprin-ter...named a high school Academic All-America in both 2007 and 2008...was the team's 2007-08 team captain...swam on 200 freestyle and 200 medley relay teams which established state records and on the school's record-setting 400 free relay team...won the Roger Vredeveld Coaches Award in 2006.
Personal: Full name is Sarah Elizabeth List...is the daughter of Mark and Bonny List...was born on April 5, 1990 in Kirkland, Wash. ...has one brother and one sister...both siblings were college athletes...Luke was a golfer at Vanderbilt, Class of '07, and Bekah was a swimmer at Whitworth College, Class of `08...majors in journalism.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer is being a part of a team.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach DeSelm is his passion for success.
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is improving my third event.
4. My best friends on another college swimming team are Nathan Vredeveld at UVa and Erin Simpson at the University of Miami.
5. My greatest strength as a swimmer is my underwater fly kicks.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academic pursuits I like to spend time with friends, seeing movies, trying new recipes and visiting new places.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is The Help.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be tennis or volleyball.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is Pretty Lights (I saw them this summer, and it was amazing!).
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is anything nautical.
Section #3: Food & Beverage
1. After a big meet, I'd like to eat at a buffet spread that included Mexican food, Diet Coke and Peanut butter M&Ms.
2. My favorite beverage is Diet Coke.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is my brother's amazing Mexican, and I love anything my dad grills.
4. My favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill is Top of the Hill.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is any junk food.
Section #4: Personality
1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I'd like to go to the Royal Wedding.
2. My most prized personal possession is my puppy, Mocha.
3. If I could go to dinner with a famous person it would be Mark Wahlberg.
4. My dream job is starting my own boutique PR agency in either Chicago or NYC.
5. The most interesting person I've met at UNC is Penny Abernathy who teaches Digital Media Economics and Leadership in a Time of Change.
