Track and field standout Laura Gerraughty is the Carolina Waterscapes Student-Athlete of the Week for January 20-26.
Gerraughty broke her own school records in the shot put and weight throw, doing so with a pair of NCAA automatic qualifying marks. In the weight throw, she threw the top distance in the ACC this year at 65-6 3/4. She throw in the shot put of 57-2 is also tops in the league and was the second automatic qualifying mark she has thrown this season in that event. She was named ACC Women's Indoor Track and Field Co-Performer of the week.
Other nominees: Raymond Felton, who scored 28 points and tied the UNC record by hitting eight three-pointers at NC State.
