Swimmming & Diving Hosts Dual Meet With South Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina men's and women's swimming and diving teams return to competition Saturday, Nov. 5, against South Carolina at Koury Natatorium.
The diving events begin at 10 a.m. with swimming starting at 11 a.m.
The Tar Heels hold a 29-9 all-time series advantage on the men's side and a 15-4 lead in the women's series. Last year was the first time in which the border state foes didn't compete during the dual meet season since the 2016-17 campaign.
Both UNC teams are 2-0 this season with wins over Queens University of Charlotte and UNCW.
Fifth-year senior Grace Countie has posted NCAA B cuts in the women's 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. Fellow fifth-year senior Sophie Lindner has also posted a NCAA B cut time in the 100-yard backstroke as did senior Ellie VanNote in the 200-yard butterfly.
UNC junior Aranza Vazquez has qualified for NCAA Zone Diving Championships in the women's one-meter and three-meter diving competitions, while seniors Emily Grund and Paige Burrell have qualified for postseason competition in the one-meter springboard.
UNC's men's diving senior duo of Anton Down-Jenkins and Alex Hart have also posted NCAA Zone qualifying scores on both boards.
